Twentewijn Rosé Barrique – A characterful rosé with depth
The Twentewijn Rosé Barrique is anything but your average rosé. Produced by Wijngaard Hof van Twente, this wine is robust, complex, and distinctive. A bold rosé distinguished by its deep color, spicy aromas, and full flavor structure. Made from a powerful blend of Regent, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Cortis, and aged in oak barriques, this rosé offers a complete experience for the connoisseur seeking refinement and character.
Wood-matured elegance from Twente
What makes this rosé unique is its aging in oak barrels. This "barrique" aging not only gives the wine its full, spicy flavor but also a subtle complexity rarely found in rosés. On the nose and palate, the wine reveals aromas of red fruit like strawberry and cherry, complemented by warm notes of nuts, caramel, and a hint of spice. The mouthfeel is dry, firm, and rounded, with a long, spicy finish that beckons you to repeat.
A rosé with culinary possibilities
Twentewijn Rosé Barrique is the rosé for grilled and barbecue enthusiasts. It's the perfect pairing with grilled vegetables, fish, or barbecued meat. Think grilled tuna, roasted peppers, or a rosemary-infused sirloin steak—dishes this wine effortlessly embraces and elevates. It also pairs beautifully with autumnal appetizer platters featuring smoked nuts and cheeses.
Depth in color and character
The color of this rosé already reveals that you have something special in the glass. Darker and deeper than you might expect from a rosé, the color reflects the powerful grapes and the oak aging. This is a wine with personality – a rosé that feels equally at home on a summer terrace or at a sophisticated dinner.
About the winemaker
Hof van Twente Vineyard was founded in January 2000 by Roelof and Ilse Visscher in Bentelo, Twente. What began as a bold step in a still-nascent Dutch wine sector has grown into one of the country's leading vineyards.
Roelof is the winemaker and craftsman behind the wines; Ilse focuses on hospitality and organization. Together, they run the company with passion and dedication. On their own vineyard, they grow modern grape varieties such as Regent, Johanniter, Solaris, and Souvignier Gris, which thrive in the Dutch climate.
The winery is known for its sustainable approach, careful vinification, and wines with character. From crisp white wines to oak-aged rosés and sparkling wines, everything is handcrafted with care—from grape to bottle.
