Wijngoed Gelders Laren

Wijngoed Gelders Laren consists of 2 hectares of vineyard with approx. 6,000 sticks divided over 5 grape varieties.

Vineyard owners Gert Jan Voortman and Diana van der Biezen focus on the cultivation of wine grapes and personally ensure that the wine grapes reach optimum quality. They do this by doing the winter pruning manually, applying truss thinning and picking selectively.

This way of working certainly pays off. The wines from the winery are of a high quality.

Special collaborations

In addition to its own Coulisse wines, Wijngoed Gelders Laren produces quality wines with passionate sommeliers. We at Design & Wine have experienced this special process ourselves with our own Orange wine, 'Orange Above'.

Other collaborations include Thérèse Boer. This wine, 'the kiss of Thérèse', is made exclusively for restaurant De Librije***

Vinification

The processing of the grapes and bottling of the wine is taken care of by Dutch Winery in Bentello.

Origin: Laren in Gelderland

Wijngoed Gelders Laren is a vineyard located in the Gelderland village of Laren, on the edge of the Veluwe and in the Achterhoek. The vineyard is known for its unique location on the sandy soils of the Achterhoek, which contributes to the special conditions for growing grapes and producing wine.

The winery has obtained the "BOB vineyard" status, which is a protected designation of origin for Dutch wine from Laren. This BOB status was granted in 2019. This status ensures that the quality of the wine is guaranteed by strict quality requirements, such as the use of specific grape varieties and winemaking methods.

Several grape varieties have been planted on the vineyard, including Cabernet Blanc, Solaris, Regent, Pinotin and Cabertin. These grape varieties thrive on sandy soils and contribute to the unique taste and character of the wines.
