This Ay-Wines – Riesling D'Alsace is an expressive and characterful white wine from Alsace, France, made from 100% Riesling. The wine is bottled unfiltered, allowing it to fully preserve its pure aromas, texture, and energy. This natural process can cause the wine to be slightly cloudy, but that is precisely what makes it so special. The result is a dry, lively Riesling with a richer mouthfeel and a pronounced terroir expression. A wine that represents authenticity, power, and unfiltered enjoyment.

Character and aromas

In the glass, the wine reveals itself as vibrant and pure, with a slightly hazy appearance that betrays its unfiltered character. The nose is fresh and layered, with invigorating notes of lime and lemon, juicy stone fruit like peach and apricot, and delicate aromas of white flowers. Typical mineral notes give the wine tension and depth. On the palate, the Riesling is taut and fresh, yet simultaneously full-bodied and rounded. The crisp acidity provides length and energy, while the unfiltered character contributes to a more intense flavor experience and a long, refreshing finish.

About the winemaker

Ay-Wines was founded by Ayleen Charlotte, who after her personal story as a victim of the '‘Tinder Swindler'’ decided to reshape her life. With Ay-Wines, she wants to show that there is life after fraud and that strength, independence, and creativity can lead to something beautiful. The wine label symbolizes resilience, self-direction, and unfiltered honesty.

For Ay-Wines – Riesling D'Alsace, Ay-Wines collaborates with the renowned Charles Frey estate in Alsace. This estate has been active in Dambach-la-Ville since the 18th century and is considered a pioneer in biodynamic agriculture. Since 1997, they have been operating entirely biodynamically, with a strong focus on sustainability, biodiversity, and respect for nature. Today, the estate is run by Dominique Frey and his sons Julien and Thiébaud. Their dedication and craftsmanship are evident in this pure, artisanal, high-quality Riesling.

From the logo and corporate identity to the label and wine selection. The famous Riesling region in Alsace was deliberately chosen for the Riesling. This makes this Ay-Wines Riesling the only non-Dutch wine in the collection, and a wonderful opportunity to compare the influence of terroir and climate with Dutch Rieslings.

This fresh and expressive Ay-Wines – Riesling D'Alsace is an excellent accompaniment to fish dishes. It pairs particularly well with salmon tartare, for example, with fried capers and dill mayonnaise. It also pairs beautifully with shellfish, light Asian dishes, and refreshing salads with citrus notes.
