The Head of Wine Experience transforms our shop into a place where it is about much more than just buying wine. You introduce people to Dutch wine, letting them taste, discover, and enjoy. A visit to you feels relaxed and surprising: someone who enters with a blank slate walks out inspired. You are hospitable, a natural storyteller, and put customers at ease. And with your original ideas, you also organize events and activations that make the experience even richer.

About Design & Wine
At Design & Wijn, everything revolves around experience, quality, and innovation. We combine two passions: design and Dutch wine. We've visited every vineyard and winemaker in the Netherlands and proudly share those stories in our shop. In our secret tasting room, we organize customized tastings, and in the wine cellar, we're building a treasure trove of unique bottles. We also develop our own wine products and a range of products that enhance the wine experience. Our goal? To elevate the wine experience to the next level.
About the function
The Head of Wine Experience transforms our shop into a place where it is about much more than just buying wine. You introduce people to Dutch wine, letting them taste, discover, and enjoy. A visit to you feels relaxed and surprising: someone who enters with a blank slate walks out inspired. You are hospitable, a natural storyteller, and put customers at ease. And with your original ideas, you also organize events and activations that make the experience even richer.
What are you going to do?
You shape the shopping experience from start to finish: from entry to departure.
You are not a typical salesperson, but an advisor, a natural storyteller, and a source of information.
After a conversation with you, the customer is inspired, knows what we stand for, and what they can come back for.
Customers become fans because of you, follow our newsletter or Instagram and tell others about it.
You organize original and effective events and activations that make people curious and connect
You follow trends and contribute to product range development. You immediately spot unique products that enhance the experience.
You translate ideas into implementation and ensure that plans actually get off the ground.
What are you bringing?
Commercial insight
You're an original thinker but understand that your ideas require a revenue model. You know your time should be rewarding, and you act accordingly.
Proactive and independent working attitude
You have a real can-do attitude: you get things done and persevere. If you see something needs to be done, you simply take action. If you need something, you clearly communicate that. In our dynamic team, we utilize each other's superpowers and build something great together. Each person contributes their own knowledge and skills, without managers.
Professional knowledge
You visit vineyards whenever possible on your vacations, read books about wine, ask lots of questions, and want to learn everything there is to know about wine. You recognize quality and always know how to offer the right wine pairing and advice.
