Prince of Holset – Domain Holset

Stylish and a touch robust. Aromas of apple and apricot, with a hint of spice. Prins is a blend of 80% Souvignier Gris and 20% Johanniter, sourced from the Holset vineyard. The base wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel, for fresh and fruity aromas. After 30 months of aging on the lees and a 3-gram dosage, Prins has developed into a dry and elegant wine with a soft mousse.

Character and aromas

At first sip, you're immediately greeted by a bright, fresh taste. The wine has a lively, fruity nose with notes of citrus, green apple, and a subtle hint of apricot. This fruitiness is beautifully balanced by a light spiciness reminiscent of a hint of white pepper.

Goes well with

This wine is ideal for light dishes. Think of a fresh salad with goat cheese, grilled salmon, or a flatbread with vegetables and hummus. It also pairs beautifully with a drinks platter featuring soft cheeses and charcuterie. It's versatile enough to suit all sorts of occasions, from a summer picnic to a cozy evening with friends.

About the winemaker

Domain Holset is a vibrant winery in the hilly south of Limburg, specializing in locally sourced sparkling wines. Everything is managed in-house: from grape cultivation to the entire winemaking process and the application of traditional methods. They work with great care and in the most sustainable way possible. They operate organically, but without a quality mark.

At the helm is Kirsten Abels, winemaker and director of Domein Holset. In 2023, she was named Wine Woman of the Year. Her signature is evident in every bottle: a certain elegance and refinement that is characteristic of the estate. Visitors can not only sample the sparkling wines and stroll through the vineyards, but also stay overnight in one of the seven unique rooms.
