This Piquette from the Zavel winery proves that less is sometimes more. A low-alcohol, refreshing alternative that impresses in both taste and durability. With its effervescent character, subtle aromas, and refreshing acidity, this drink is a perfect example of creativity in the wine world.

Character and aromas

At the first sip, you immediately notice how playful and light-hearted this Piquette is. The nose treats you to juicy raspberries, sweet strawberries and exotic lychee, complemented by a floral touch of roses. Behind this lies a surprising hint of rhubarb and a subtle bitterness of grapefruit, which together provide a delicious balance between freshness and structure. Dry, slightly sparkling and with a refreshing acidity – it is almost impossible not to pour another glass.

How it's made

This Piquette is a model of sustainability. The skins of Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Kerner and Pinot Noir – normally a residual product – are reused. By refermenting them with sugar and champagne yeasts, a sparkling drink is created with a dosage of only 7 grams per litre. This process takes place entirely in steel, and refermentation in the bottle gives it its sparkling character. No disgorgement, no fuss – pure nature.

Goes well with

Whether you’re looking to liven up a party or plan a relaxing afternoon in the garden, this Piquette is your new best friend. Ideal as an aperitif, but also surprisingly versatile at the table. Think of fresh salads with goat cheese or citrus dressing, a charcuterie board with soft cheeses and fruit, or even a summery ceviche with lime and coriander. Fancy something a little more exciting? Pair it with spicy dishes such as Thai curries or Vietnamese spring rolls – the freshness of the Piquette keeps everything nicely in balance.
